I got these fitted at REI. We also tried 39.5 but this was definitely the fit (1 street size down from my usual womens 9.5). I have a slightly wide foot with a slight arch. My first and second toe slightly curl but the rest are straight. My pinky toe is flush with the side of the shoe. I have not climbed in these yet but they feel great so far. "
